deixo-vos com o link para o video promocional de um novo projecto português, com raízes muito africanas. Bate & Bala é um grupo residente no Porto que tem como instrumento central o ”Balafon”. Um dos seus fundadores é o um grande amigo e especialista em músicas do mundo: Márcio Pinto (Semente, Olive tree dance, Retimbrar, etc.). Da última vez que falei com ele mostrou-me o projecto e estava super excitado com o trabalho do grupo, depois de ver a promo percebo porquê. Claramente todo o grupo está felicíssimo e isso transparece nas suas performances. Desejo-lhes a continuação de um bom trabalho e que ”batam e balem” prá frente.

I’ll leave you with a link to the promotional video of a new portuguese project, with very strong african roots. Bate & Bala is a group from Porto (northern Portugal) that has the african ”balafon” as its main instrument. One of its creators is a great friend and specialist in world music:  Márcio Pinto (Semente, Olive tree dance, Retimbrar, etc.). Last time we talked he was super excited with this new project, after watching the promo I can see why. Clearly evereyone in the group is having a blast and it can be felt in their amazing performances.  I wish them all the best.
